It might be hard to explain a catamaran in your bag when you go through security , but it will make every bit on sense once you pull it out on the beach. If you are doing your vacation on water, this will add some enjoyable recreational moments.

“Remember, a few months back, we told you about Origami Boat which folds after use. Well, that is still a concept but we have another awesome Mini inflatable Catamaran that actually fits into a bag and can be carried anywhere with you! The ultra-lightweight folding dinghy weighs only 40kg and can support weight of up to 240kg. The catamaran frame is made from fibreglass parts and lightweight aluminium rods and is fit for use in lakes, rivers or sea. The boat features a main sail of 3.25 sqm and its rudder is designed to be raised to a 90 degree angle so it can be raised and lowered when in and out of shore. The boat takes about half an hour to set-up and then you are ready to hit the waves with panache! The super portable MiniCat Catamaran sells for $4,500.”

“It’s not the end of the world, but you can see it from here,” Leatherman said from Ocracoke, the first beach not in Florida or Hawaii to earn the top spot in his annual ranking of the nation’s top 10 spots on the shore.
[..]
“Here, you have 14 miles of unspoiled, undisturbed barrier beach,” said Leatherman, director of Florida International’s laboratory for coastal research. “Where do you find that in the world?”
[..]
“People shouldn’t come here to play golf, and don’t come here for the Hilton spa or something like that,” Leatherman said. “They’re not going to find those things here. What you will find here it’s like going back in time with very quaint, small inns. It’s my favorite getaway island beach. And it’s definitely that.”

Avoid the Stress of Vacation

Effective global networking requires that one remain vigilant for one’s mental and physical health. Traipsing around the globe, staying constantly connected to our networks, no matter how intrusive that may be, takes a definite toll.
vacation
For all the gadgetry that is designed to facilitate work loads and provide ease, your typical professional has now managed to make himself accessible 24/7, often even when they are supposed to be enjoying the fruits of hard labor during a stress free vacation. But how many of us have felt the need to take a vacation to recover from our vacations?

LifeHack.org has some practical suggestions to safeguard your down time from the toxin of continued stress. Here are the first few, follow the link to read them all.

  • While you’re away, ask that trusted person to answer all phone calls. Never pick up the phone yourself. The rule is no contact from anyone concerned with work, save in a genuine emergency (and I mean genuine, like the office burned down).
  • Pick a vacation that includes lots of places to go, things to see and do, and fresh experiences to keep you fully engaged. Don’t lie on a beach or hang around the pool. Boredom will send you mind scurrying back to work-related issued and have you imagining all kinds of problems waiting for you. Then you’ll try to find some way of getting in touch.
  • Stay in the moment. No past. No future. Simply pay attention to what is happening right here and right now. Most of us spend nearly all our time worrying about what’s going to happen, or analyzing what did. You can do nothing to change the past and the future is unknowable. But both can prevent you from enjoying what’s here, right now.
