A man, whose forte is dealing with matter, energy, motion, and force, is a natural at venture capitalism. Physicist John H. Doede received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and a Masters of Science and Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Chicago. Dr. Doede spent several years as an experimental physicist. He went to work in the computer industry in charge of product design and programming activities. In the late 1960’s, he entered the field of venture capital financing specializing in high tech investments.

Dr. Doede’s present concern is One Stop Marine Solutions. He is this company’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman. The company provides maritime oriented consulting and survey services, serving a global spectrum and drawing on a staff that has been in the industry for nearly twenty years. This company’s province runs the gamut from providing Crew Staffing to Yacht, Ship and Marina Design.

Before his involvement in One Stop Marine Solutions, Dr. Doede worked in Interim/Crisis Management and was an investor in the Eastern European/Asia Market. His client industries covered categories in: Aerospace/Defense, Internet/E-Commerce, Finance, and Manufacturing/Industrial. Then and now, Dr. Doede’s specializes in corporate renewal, finance, manufacturing, operations, restructuring, and strategic planning. He was interviewed in October of 2004 about his thoughts on his involvement with The AIG Silk Road Fund, an investment fund providing equity finance in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. He assessed the region as having, “An educated work force, particularly in science and technology that will enjoy an expanding economic power. The ‘New Europe’ will cause great economic difficulties for the “Old Europe” as it ages, and as the entrenched labor/agriculture interests attempt to maintain their position – which they will not be able to do. The greatest competition for “New Europe” will be from China, both for investment and economic growth. Over the next 10 years, western investors will have to choose between the two.”

Scottsdale, Arizona is where Dr. Doede hangs his hat. The New York Times described downtown Scottsdale as “a desert version of Miami’s South Beach” and as having “plenty of late night partying and a buzzing hotel scene.” The doctor knows a more personal and down home version of his town. He married his wife Jean in 1983 and they have three children Danna, Tina, and Timothy. Along with spending time with his family, Dr. Doede enjoys travel and boating. He is a member of many yacht clubs that span the country.
