Madison Who’s Who Recognizes Carlos P. Borromeo, Jr., M.D., M.Sc.
Borromeo (Italian): nickname for a pious person who had made the pilgrimage to Rome, or an amiable man who bore the given name “Romeo,” from the Italian “bono,” meaning good + Romeo + Roman = Borromeo. The Borromeo family ancestry can be traced to a Saint Justina who was martyred in 303. Skipping some centuries ahead, in the mid 18th century, Carlos “Capitan Aro” Borromeo is said to be the first Borromeo to settle in the Philippines. Skipping three more centuries ahead we come to New Jersey resident Carlos P. Borromeo, Jr., M.D., M.Sc. Here is a man who has followed his ancestors lead. Dr. Borromeo is a vanguard for his profession and his family.
Dr. Carlos P. Borromeo, Jr. began his life in the Philippines. With a sharp mind and fueled with tenacity he went on to earn his M.D. at the university. The following year he ventured on to Canada where he earned his postgraduate degree in science. Finally he settled in Pennsauken a New Jersey town which is bordered by the Delaware River and Cooper River, and the towns of: Cinnaminson, Palmyra, Camden, Merchantville, Collingswood and Cherry Hill. Pennsauken has a contrastive history being the home to the founder of Labor Day Peter J. McGuire and being the preferred docking spot for Blackbeard the Pirate whenever he visited Philadelphia. It is in this town that Dr. Borromeo started his private practice in Family Medicine. The doctor specializes in General Medicine which is concerned with the diagnosis and (non-surgical) treatment of diseases, as well as counseling in preventative medicine and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
In addition to the rewards that come with having a long lasting and fulfilling career, the doctor has received accolades of high distinction. He was one of twenty-five to be awarded the Outstanding Filipino Award from the American Filipino Image in the United States, as well as the Golden Merit Award from the Camden County Medical Society and New Jersey State Medical Society. Speaking of medical societies he is active as a: Fellow of the American College of Physicians; Fellow of the American College of International Physicians; Fellow of the American College of Family Physicians; Life Member of the American College of Family Physicians; Life Member of the American Association of Philippines Physicians.
