With deep insight and acute understanding Kathleen Hern performs her duties as vocational consultant for ManageAbility, Inc. This company has been offering managed care services to people since 1988. Ms. Hern works in the Case Management Sector which contains the Disability Management, Vocational Management, Catastrophic Management, and Medical Management divisions.  She’s centered in the Vocational Management division and her role is to provide return to work strategies with quick results and a minimal disruption to the workplace.  To these ends Kathleen Hern focuses on the following goals:

• Produce cost-effective outcomes
• Identify the injured person’s employability, marketability, and placeability
• Identify appropriate job options and secures replacement jobs and options
• Provide job-seeking skills training where needed
• Arrange on-the-job training and retraining as appropriate
• Conduct job coaching and worksite services
• Determine residual wage-earning capacity

The achievement of the goals she has so far set for herself have placed her in her career. Kathleen Hern went to the University of Wisconsin where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Masters Degree in Community Counseling and Chemical Dependency. She is QRC, (Qualified Rehabilitation Consultant); a CDMS, (Certified Disability Management Specialist): and a CCM.

When not attending to the needs of her clients, she attends to her own needs with introspective, constructive, and relaxing pursuits such as gardening, woodworking, reading poetry, and cross stitching. Other more energetic of her recreations are basketball and soccer.
