Madison Who’s Who Recognizes Professor Robin G. Woods, A.M.

An experienced and excellent Dental Surgeon and General Practitioner of Dentistry in his own private practice, Dr. Robin Woods has a specialty in research towards infectious diseases and their transmissions (Aetiology). He also is involved in the development of dissociative anesthesia. In 2006 he was a champion of fluoridation stating, “The Australian National Institute of Health and Welfare has recently released data to show that the longevity of Australians has increased from 1985 to 2002 by 15 years. Life expectancy is a measure of general health, coupled with the extent of fluoridation. There can be no question of the safety of the measure.” Dr. Woods’ thrives at targeting a disease’s source and finding new ways of prevention.

In his capacity as a scholar, Professor Woods is on the Faculty of the University of Sydney’s College of Dentistry. He has kept the academic circle unbroken in that he received his Bachelor’s of Dentistry and M.D.S. at this same University.  In addition to teaching at this university Dr. Woods is a writer of several textbooks on Oral Health, which provides the opportunity to others to access his knowledge. He also held a chairmanship of the World Dental Federation FDI Commission’s working group on malignant neoplasms in and around the mouth.

Outside of his Dental Practice, literally and figuratively, Dr. Robin G. Woods is a student of life. He has quite the knowledge of Australia’s birds. The impressive tree outside his practice is home to galahs, western rosellas, and sulfur crested cockatoos.

Dr. Wood’s home life is a happy and full one. He lives in Yass, a lovely wine region known for its award winning cool climate varietals. He appreciates his special surroundings, and he credits his wife Judith of more than 51 years for the contentment and gladness that fill his home. He is very proud of their two daughters, Helen an Executive Secretary for the Australian Observatory and Ruth a RN (like her mom) at Calvary Hospital.

Writing short stories, analyzing music (classical and of the romantic period), and organizing concerts are satisfying outlets for his creative side.
