Mohamed A. Tumi, Ph.D. is the Managing Partner of the Tumi Law Firm. He founded the law firm in 1990. Since then the firm has built its reputation nationally and internationally and grown into the largest law firm in Libya. The Tumi Law Firm is engaged in several diverse practice areas that ensure the firm’s involvement in all aspects of commercial and corporate activity in Libya. The firms main practice involves corporate, commercial, and investment law; oil and gas, banking and finance, intellectual property, immigration, litigation, arbitration, and mediation.

Dr. Tumi has 27 years of valuable working experience. He has been a member of the American Society of International Law since 1983. He also is a member of Arab Society of Intellectual Property and has been admitted to Centre de Conciliation d’Arbitrage, et d’Expertise as a mediator and arbitrator. Among Dr. Tumi’s other affiliations are: Council Alliance of New York, the Libyan Bar Association, and the Alliance of Business Lawyers.

Extremely motivated as a student Dr. Mohamed A. Tumi graduated from two law schools: one at the University of Cairo, Egypt and the second being the University of Damascus, Syria. Additionally, Dr. Tumi received a Masters of Comparative Law from the University of Miami, Florida, where he obtained an LL.M Degree (with Highest Honors). Dr. Tumi also holds a Ph.D. in Law conferred on him by the Universtiy of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

In 1981 Dr. Tumi married Afifa. They are the devoted parents of three children: Mazen, Maraj, Majdi. During quiet times, or to invite them on, he enjoys reading. When craving more energetic exploits he turns to sports, any sport. Traveling brings him both quiet contemplation and rejuvenation.
