Mr. Ibrahim Kanaan is Senior Partner of Kanann Law Firm which he founded in 1992. The Firm is located in Beirut and has a staff of around twenty legal professionals, twelve of whom are lawyers, who provide legal services of the utmost quality. The Firm’s central practice areas include: media law, commercial and corporate law, and arbitration.
Mr. Kanaan holds a Masters in Private International Law from the University of Paris. He also has two Bachelors Degrees from St. Joseph University, Beirut: one in French Law and another in Lebanese Law. He started his career in 1991 in England as a Middle East Consultant at Elliott & Company, Solicitors. In 1998 he joined Kennedys, Solicitors in London and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While with Kennedys he worked as an International Associate and Partner. Actively involved in international work and a lot of foreign travel, he attended most of the legal conferences he was invited to. Mr. Kanaan’s abilities and manner has earned the respect of his colleagues and peers. In business and lawyer circles he is recognized as a leading authority in commercial law. He was elected to the Law Society of England and Wales
In 2005 Mr. Ibrahim Kanaan was elected to his first term in the Lebanese Parliament. There he represents the El Metn District. He plays key role in Parliament as the Chair of the Youth and Sport Parliamentary Commission, as well as being a member of: the Justice and Administration Commission, Human Rights Commission, and the highest Parliamentary Court. He is Secretary General of the “reform and change” Parliamentary bloc.
